We are currently looking for a new colleague to join the position of Manager Customs & Tax at Hitachi Construction Machinery headquarter in Amsterdam.

Department: Finance & Accounting
Experience: min. 5 years in similar role

What you will be doing
Tax
  • Produce the periodically required Corporate income Tax and VAT declarations in all applicable countries.
  • Produce the periodically required Transfer pricing documentation
  • Plans and manages the completion of tax forecasts and related exercises.
  • Ensures the maintenance of accurate Tax records
  • Window person with DTA on all Tax related matters
  • Supervises the timely provision of tax information requested by management.
  • Ensures a broad knowledge of current tax regulations, providing advice to the organization as required.
  • Assists in vetting the more straight-forward of the organization’s tax documents for acceptable, correct wording.
  • Deal with queries from governmental revenue agencies.
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory tax law developments, communicate the effects of these developments to management and tax team and create strategies to capitalize on changes to taxation legislation. Work on continuous improvements Track on Trade and all HCME’s ERP systems
  • Work on structural improvement in general and AEO and Known Shipper projects in particular

Customs
  • Produce the monthly customs filings with the DTA
  • Monthly reconciliations between Sap  and Track on Trade  software
  • Maintain specific article master data – HS codes / material
  • Advise and inform other departments within HCME on customs affairs
  • Maintain the customs knowledge database within HCME
  • In control of goods movement: Oosterhout (parts) and Amsterdam

Responsibilities
  • Make sure that HCME is compliant to the Dutch / EU Customs and Tax regulations
  • Make sure that HCME is compliant to the regulations (IFRS / VAT)
  • Produce and enter filings in time with the Dutch Tax Authority (DTA)
  • Manage the Customs and Tax Department in an efficient and prudent way
  • Follow the HCME guidelines and instructions in- and outside the day-to-day operations: we refer to (for example) guidelines on ethics, fraud, insider trading, confidentiality, and others. 

What you will need to succeed
  • BSc or MSc in Financial studies
  • Fluent English and preferably Dutch
  • Good communication and influencing skills, style flexibility, negotiation skills and hands-on/can do mentality
  • Leadership qualities both in people as in the process
  • Accurate and service minded attitude.
