We are currently looking for a new colleague to join the position of PR & Communications Manager at Hitachi Construction Machinery EU headquarter in Amsterdam.

The goal of this role is to support the marketing department in enhancing Hitachi’s brand image and awareness throughout HCME’s territory and promote HCME’s products and value chain business through media relations and effective content management.

What you will be doing

• Being a project leader of PR and communications activities and optimizing the PR and communications strategy accordingly
• Ensuring quality coverage of key HCME achievements and messages, for current products, product launches and HCME’s value chain activities
• Tracking industry-related media coverage to share with internal stakeholders
• Acting as a brand guardian, upholding brand and trademark standards and consistency in all projects, following company guidelines for internal and external communication
• Serving as the public face of the company in interviews and press conferences
• Briefing external suppliers in design, copy, image, and content needs in the development of press, communication, and promotional activities to further enhance Hitachi’s brand image
• Preparing budget requirements and managing expenditure to be within the budget for digital marketing efforts
• Evaluating of both current and new suppliers
• Guarding the corporate identity in all documents
• Keeping internal approval workflow for HCME original publications

What you will need to succeed

• Min. Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Business Administration or similar
• 6+ years’ experience working within PR, Media or Communications fields
• Experience in building and maintaining strong links with the press
• Proactive, multitasking, reliable, responsible and accurate with an attention to detail approach
• Tactical understanding of all primary social media platforms
• Excellent communication skills and excellent written/spoken English, nice to have Dutch language and/or other languages
• Highly self-motivated and able to work autonomously
• A conceptual & curious mindset that keeps you one step ahead of industry and content trends
• High level of energy and a great team spirit
