Satellogic’s Aleph-1 constellation is projected to deliver weekly global coverage by 2023, and daily global coverage by 2025 with more than 200 satellites in orbit. This feat will not only deliver unprecedented global transparency and timely information that will improve life on Earth in a myriad of ways, it will make satellite engineering history.
We currently have 22 satellites operating in orbit and will have 30+ by the end of 2022. Each satellite is equipped with three core capabilities plus an additional payload bay for third party technology or proprietary tests.

Meet the team

Gustav Wenhold serves as VP of Manufacturing Operations at Satellogic. He has more than 20 years’ international leadership experience in a manufacturing environment with different high-tech products. The last 15 years he has managed separate aerospace manufacturing entities with the full spectrum of functions required to have self-sustaining business models.
More recently, Gustav was Director of Operations (EMEA & ASIA) at Smiths Detection responsible for 4 manufacturing plants in EU and Asia. Prior to Smiths he was with Schaeffler in the role of VP Regional Business Unit Aerospace Industrial Europe responsible for the Aerospace business in Europe with 2 manufacturing plants. Besides improving plant efficiency and results, Mr. Wenhold has gained important experience in change management as well as setting up units in different countries.
Gustav has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Pretoria in South Africa. In 2000 he was assigned to work in Germany where he and his family still reside. He also has a formal qualification in LEAN and Six Sigma for both R&D and production.
Federico Hanssen serves as Satellogic’s VP of Manufacturing Capability.
Mr. Hanssen has been leading engineering and manufacturing organizations at Procter & Gamble for 20 years. He has also led the manufacturing capability development program for P&G plants in LA. His experience also includes maintenance planning and execution in Shell Oil and manufacturing capability consultancy to Mondelez Canada and US operations.
Federico earned his Mechanical Engineering degree cum laude from FIUBA, University of Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Julia Despina Dormaar serves as the VP of People at Satellogic. She joined the company in September 2021 bringing strong international experience across the entire Human Resources spectrum from both established multinational corporations to highly dynamic start-up and scale-up organizations. Julia is convinced that talent is the most essential and inimitable foundation on which businesses build their long-term success. Her passion is to foster workplaces where diverse engineering, commercial and creative talents can learn from each other, grow as a team and have a positive impact on the world around them.
After completing a semester abroad at the American University in Cairo, Julia gained initial professional experience working in the Middle East. She moved on to Deutsche Bank in Frankfurt and later National Australia Bank in Melbourne, where she managed the organizational change and people aspects of large-scale IT infrastructure outsourcing initiatives. Moving to professional services, Julia held a number of senior HR leadership roles at professional services firm EY and, with her team of 40+ people, was responsible for the entire Talent Development spectrum, from Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, to Engagement, Leadership Development, Performance, Learning and Education and strategic Future of Work programs.
Julia joined Tesla as the HR Director for EMEA in early 2018, building the HR team and capability for European expansion across 17 national territories, scaling the business for Model3 introduction and leading people and employment aspects for the first European Gigafactory set-up.
Prior to joining Satellogic Julia spent a few months at Artemis GmbH, a start-up under the Audi brand, focused on the development of autonomous electric vehicles, where she and her team built-out the core recruiting and people management foundation, setting the business up for growth.
Julia holds a bachelor’s degree in International Business and Intercultural Studies from the University of Applied Sciences in Heilbronn, Germany.
Alessandro Comune serves as VP of Global Supply Chain. He joined Satellogic in April 2021 bringing 20 years of experience gained internationally in several technical and managerial roles.
Most recently, Alessandro provided leadership to the Procurement Team of OHB Systems in Munich, Germany, heading the Subcontractor Management Department. He dealt with the selection and management of space equipment suppliers, negotiating executing complex development contracts from kick-off to final deliveries for earth observation and scientific missions within the ESA institutional market.
Previously, Mr. Comune was Project Manager at ABSL Space Products in Oxford, UK (now a division of EnerSys Advanced Systems) delivering Lithium-Ion batteries to several Satellite customers around the world. In 2007 he worked for Airbus Defence Space in Stevenage, UK as Principal Engineer where he gained experience in the Eurostar E3000 telecoms satellite platforms and related customizations and evolutions.
Alessandro started his career in the Aviation Industry working on different Commercial and Military aircraft projects in Italy for Leonardo (former Alenia Aeronautica) and in the US at Lockheed Martin for the JSF F-35 program. He earned his MSc in Aeronautical Engineering cum laude from University of Napoli “Federico II” in Italy.
Dionisio Díaz González serves on the leadership team of the Engineering and Production group as VP of Satellite Engineering in Satellogic. He joined the company in 2020 bringing a strong international experience developed in several leading positions across different cities such as Madrid, Paris, New York or Munich.
Dionisio started his career in the German Aerospace Center. He carries extensive baggage in the design, implementation and optimization of internal company processes, focusing on enabling the technical transition from the prototype phase to the series production. Mr. Díaz González was previously the Head of Project Management and Development at Mynaric Lasercom, a German start-up of over 100 employees developing and manufacturing space wireless laser communication systems. In this role, he oversaw the elaboration and deployment of the company's technical roadmaps for 10 years, managing a team of 50+ people. He contributed significantly to Mynaric's growth, having been the first engineer hired by the company after it was founded.
Dionisio holds a bachelor's degree in Telecommunications Engineering, specialized in Signal Processing and Radiocommunication, from the University of Sevilla, Spain.
Paul has been working within the Dutch space sector for over 6 years, with a focus on Earth observation. Previously he was involved in astronomical optical instrumentation development across 4 continents and he has international business management experience. He is originally from Australia and has a PhD and BSc (Advanced Physics) from the University of Sydney, as well as various further international post-graduate qualifications relating to the space industry and computer science. During his PhD, Paul developed a new observational technique, with the Cassini spacecraft, to use the rings of Saturn as a kind of giant telescope. In his free time he is an active scuba diver, hobby distiller, avid traveller, explorer and stargazer (weather permitting).
Olivia-Bernadette Jährling serves as Manufacturing Leader at Sattelogic in the HTP Netherland. She joined the company in April 2022 and brings strong experience in manufacturing leadership and Lean principles.
The last 10 years she was organizing and optimizing as a production manager several manufacturing environments. She started with Fackelmann producing household goods via extrusion process and developing new products. Followed by Dr. Schneider in the Automotive sector where she was also the responsible CIP manager for 2 plants and building up a new department. Previously she led 5 departments for Prysmiangroup the data cable production, compounding, wire drawing, braiding and stranding area with ca. 100 employees.
Olivia-Bernadette has a M.Sc. in Material Science from the Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen Germany as well as a Dipl.-Ing. in Material Engineering from the Georg-Simon-Ohm Hochschule Nürnberg Germany and 3 years of Psychology/Pedagogy studies at the Georg-Simon-Ohm Hochschule. She also holds qualifications in Six Sigma and operational reintegration management.
